The Time In Heard Island and McDonald Islands
These uninhabited, barren, sub–Antarctic islands were transferred from the United Kingdom (UK) to Australia in 1947. Populated by large numbers of seal and bird species, the islands have been designated a nature preserve.
To ensure accuracy of information, Australian Antarctic Division Australian Antarctic Division. On January 3, 2005, a senior official confirmed that Heard Island and McDonald Islands use the GMT +5 time zone. Additionally, since the islands are uninhabited, the islands do not observe daylight saving time.
